Luka Doncic has written a piece titled “To Win It All: On Basketball and Belonging” for the Lakers’ official book, published by TASCHEN and running to 528 pages. In it, he says he wants to win it all with the franchise he joined from Dallas in February 2025, after a surprise trade.
He also writes about meeting Lakers governor Jeanie Buss, who told him he had the chance to build a legacy of his own. Last season, Doncic averaged 33.5 points, 8.3 assists and 7.7 rebounds over 64 games, the league’s highest points total, shooting 47.6% from the field. He was named to the All-NBA First Team for the sixth time in his career.
A five-hundred-and-twenty-eight-page book to tell a club’s history, with a chapter written by the player himself. At our place, the club’s history is a folder in the bar cupboard, with the scoresheets and a photo from the Easter tournament, mind you. Nobody edits it, nobody publishes it, but it’s been complete for nearly twenty years. When a new American arrives, I don’t talk to him about building a legacy, I hand him the key to the hall and show him where the heating is. Comes to the same thing, if you ask me. I’ve still got the folder to put away tonight, and the key to hand back.
It’s true, we checked: BasketNews.
